Walking the Talk: What it Really Means to Create a Psychologically Safe Workplace

Moderator: Jody Young, president and CEO, Workplace Safety & Prevention Services
Panelists: Sheldon Kennedy, Co-Founder, Respect Group and Dr. Ryan Todd, CEO, Headversity

Canadian workers aren’t just giving lip service to the importance of psychological safety in the workplace; they are taking drastic steps to get the support they need. Over 30% of Canadian workers say they walk would away from their current positions for better mental health support. Nearly 75% of workers between 18-34 would leave for better benefits and almost 90% say the top benefit they’re seeking is mental health support.

Organizations can’t ignore this call for action. Now, more than ever, it’s critical to understand what it really means to create a psychologically safe workplace culture.

Join us for a lively panel discussion featuring Sheldon Kennedy, Co-Founder of Respect Group and Dr. Ryan Todd of Headversity. We’ll dive into topics such as:

  • How to begin building a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
  • What is BAHD behaviour and how is it impacted by remote work?
  • What characteristics behaviours and values contribute to a psychosocially positive workplace?
  • What are some common psychosocial issues and sources of work-related stress, and what steps can be taken to address these risks?
  • What does it really mean to build resilience in the workplace?
